Students spent time during the December holiday season reflecting upon the idea of giving vs. receiving. This is a collection of thoughts from the 7th and 8th grade classes.

If I could give any gift to the world, then I would give the world a lifetime supply of food for every hungry animal in animal shelters, and animals in homes that can’t afford to feed their animals. You don’t kill innocent animals because you can’t afford to feed the animal. There will be no more hungry animals in the world, because it’s not fair that animals have to suffer while we eat food in front of them all the time. It’s mean when someone is eating like a hotdog and then kick the dog away, so now every animal will get all the food they need. I give the animals food because, I love animals, and they don’t deserve to starve.
Andrew grade 8 My Gift To The World My gift to the world would be to give the world more natural resources. I would give the world more resources because it would help heat homes and save a lot of homeless people from staying out in the rain. More natural resources would help the world in many ways. For example the united states said that we can use vegetable oil for gas. But there’s not enough of it for everyone, so if I could give the world resources then we could use vegetable oil and save our planet.
If i could give a gift to the world, i would give the world love. In this world, there is too much hatred and negative actions, this world needs a little love. I would wish for all to love and be loved, and keep things peaceful.
Allison 8 My gift to the world would be to eradicate poverty, because If people don’t have enough money they can’t live happily and therefore have to worry about money. I want each person to have sufficient.
If i were to give a gift to the world i would choose the gift of happiness because i feel that our world doesn't use that feeling to much there are so many things that we could feel happy for like for example, family, friends, animals, people, relationships, etc. You never need to work hard to feel happiness it just comes to you freely. If everyone felt happy the world would be peaceful and calm. Happiness is a feeling that should make you feel exited inside. If you feel happy you can spread it among everyone to make them feel happy. Hailey 8th grade
If I could give one gift to the world, I would give strength. So that people can get stronger, and wouldn’t have to deal with pain. Some people are weak and can’t handle their surroundings. If they are stronger, then they wouldn’t have to be worried. And if everyone grew stronger then they would be able to handle fears, tears, and disasters. Some people have sad lives at home, and I would like to make that so they aren't afraid of living. God put us here to stay strong, not just to break down when nothing is right and everything is wrong.

For the people who are sad, I wold give them happiness. For the people who are weak, I would give them strength. For the people who are mean, I would give them kindness. For the people who have never loved, I would give them love.
chris 8 My gift to the world would be Peace Time In The Middle East. People are dying every day and also getting hurt every day. We say we are sending people out there to finish the war, but people are really going into war and getting hurt or killed. Just think about how many people would be alive and how many families would be together for the holidays and birthdays.
sean 8th I would give the world everlasting life. No one would die. Everyone would come back to life. I would do this because when you lose someone its very hard and now we wouldn’t have to lose someone who is close to us. Everyone you have lost would come back from death and they would be the same as before.
My gift to the world would be love. If I could give one thing to the world it would be love for all the people who have lost someone. For all the people who have no home or family, I wish them all love for Christmas. Some people believe to show love you need to give a gift. That is not true, love is helping people in hospitals, love is helping people who have no home. Love is just being with your family and for the people who have no family. They always will have friends or something special in their life, so let there be love that surrounds the earth!
My gift to the world would be Friendship. I would give the world friendship because everyone needs friends. Not all people get along and I wish we would. If the world got along all of the wars would end. Friendship is the best thing in the world because without friends people lose hope. So in giving friendship I would also be giving hope.
forrest b 7th grade My gift to the world is money because it would be better for the world. Everybody would have a home and food. And the economy would be better and everybody would be happy. And people could solve their problems and nobody would be sad. And there would be peace in the world.
Ivan 8 If I could give a gift to the world it would be to give the poor Africans money. They don’t have enough money to support their children. They can’t pay for them to go to school. They can’t afford to pay for food. Unfortunately some of them get killed over blood diamonds. They have no clothes. For food they have to make fishing poles out of wood and fish to get their food. So money would save these Africans.!!!!
I chose World Peace because all you hear about on the news today is about war everywhere. I frankly am sick of it, and I think everyone else is also. It’s not just here in America that people are worried about their loved ones it’s everywhere. If there was no more war then there would be a lot less things to be worried about.
My Gift to the world would be no more wars. I want this because I do not like to see dead people. It is sad when I hear about destruction and bombs going off. If I had all of the power in the world, I would stop the wars. That is a list of reasons why I do not want wars.

I would give money because some people in Africa and the Middle East don’t have a enough money to buy food, shelter, and clothes. So I will give those countries money so they can buy the things they need. I will also use the money so the children can go to school. That is my gift to the world.
Josie,grade 7 New Moon By: Stephenie Meyer New Moon is a great book that has a lot of action and drama, Even at one point it had me crying! This book series is basically about this girl named Bella and her vampire boyfriend Edward and there adventures. But New Moon is about when Edward leaves Bella to go to the Voulterly in Italy with his family. Bella gets very upset and goes into a state of depression, But then Jake came in and helped her get better and the ending ends with a big bang! I would suggest this book for people who like romance and drama!
