My book is called Tuck Everlasting, by: Natalie Babbitt. This book is fiction, although it may not be true doesn’t always mean it’s not a good book. This book is fearsome, beautiful, and flawless. It’s a beautiful story about love, responsibility, and a bit of a mystery. Well this book takes place in a small village called Treegap. Everyone here is friendly, and a bit mysterious, and everything is normal, just like any other village. Until one day a strange man came to Winifred Foster’s house, he was very odd, and asked a lot of questions, and had to leave because winifred’s grandmother came out and heard a noise coming from the wood. The next morning Winifred went out side to see the wood and where the music was coming from. In the wood there stands a big tall tree with a T carved into it, and under neath it is a pile of pebbles, and a boy. The main plot of the story revolves around Winnie, the boy, the mysterious man, and the wood, to find out why you’ll have to read the book. Personally this story made me cry for many reasons, there was death, love, and kidnapping, so if you like sad, adventurous, and beautiful stories then I would recommend this book to you. Also i would recommend this book to kids from ages 11 to 14. If you would also prefer watching the movie that’s okay, because the movie tells you a lot more then the book, and is less confusing, but I would prefer to read, because it gives you a better story, the way your mind wants it to be, but is still the same. The movie is different from the book, like there’s a lot of things different from the movie and the book, so I think if your going to read the book then you should also watch the movie.

The book I read is called A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. This book is about three siblings, 2 girls and 1 boy: Violet, the eldest, Klaus, the middle child, and Sunny, the youngest. These three siblings lived in a beautiful mansion with their loving parents, but suddenly their life takes a terrible turn. They were at the beach one day and and Mr. Poe, a banker, came up to them and told that their parents had died in a fire destroying their entire home. Mr. Poe told the children that they would be going to one of their closest relatives, Count Olaf. The children had never heard of this man and were afraid that Mr. Poe had made a mistake. When the children arrived at Count Olafs house, they were terrified at what they saw. Soon after living there for a while, Olaf took the children to a little store on the road to ged a drink. when Olaf got out he locked the car and the children were surprised to see that the locks had completely disappeared. They then realized that the car was parked on the railroad tracks and the train was coming. But they all worked together and figured out how to switch the tracks so that the train wouldn’t hit them. M. Poe came by right after this event happened found that Olaf wasn’t fit to take care of three children. they stayed with two other different relatives and came upon many other unfortunate events. This book would be good for someone a good mystery and something that will make you never want to put it down. There are 13 books in this series and they make a movie about the first book. I thought that this book was very interesting and mysterious.

The book that I did my book talk on, is called “UP” by: Kevin Brooks. It is a story about a boy who is 15, and his name is Martyn Pig. Poor kid, has a ridiculous name like that. But I guess that he gets used to it after awhile. His mother left him at a young age, and his father is an abusive alcoholic. He has a friend who is his neighbor, and her name is Alex, who is gorgeous, stunning, who is also 15. His dad is usually always drunk, that when he’s not.. he still is from the night before. One night, his father got so drunk, he passed out.. and never woke up. Not Martyn has the choice to either tell the police what happened and be suspected for murder, or he can get rid of the body himself, and go on with the rest of his life. I would defiantly recommend this book to young adults

Skinny by Ibi Kaslik

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be perfect? Well thats what life is like for Holly’s sister Giselle, she’s sick. Not the kind of sick you would think of, she is battling with a disorder called anorexia, and her world comes crashing down around her, and her promising future could come to a sudden end. And then there’s her little sister Holly, while she’s dealing with her sisters troubles, she has some of her own. She’s a track star, a good student, but when being a teenager suddenly catches up with her, both of them are holding onto dear life. I believe that Skinny is a fantastic novel for teens who love to read about real situations and realistic fiction.

The Book I Read was The Last Olympian. The Author of this book is Rick Riordan. The Genre of this book is Fantasy. The Reason I read this book is because we read the first book in Language arts and I was interested in the book, so I read the next book, The Sea of Monsters and I read the 3rd book, The Titans Curse, and I couldn’t stop reading the series because the ending of the books were very exciting and interesting. I really enjoyed reading this series. This book is a book about the gods, like Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hestia, and others. In The Last Olympian, Kronos, A titan, rose from Tartarus and wants his revenge on Percy Jackson, the main character of the book. The titans army is invading New York with an army of hundreds of monsters. None of the mortals are doing anything because they are all asleep. The reason that they are all asleep is because there is a “Barrier” surrounding New York that makes everyone sleep. This book connected to my life was that I went to New York.

In The Cards: Love, By Mariah Fredricks
The book I read, In The Cards: Love, was about a girl named Anna who lives in an apartment with her mom and little brother Russell. She’s kind of the average tween who doesn’t really fit in with the popular crowd. Her best friend Eve is like a goth-ish girl who doesn’t really fit in either. Her and Eve were at her house and got news that the elderly lady that Anna use to help out Mrs. Rosemont, had died, and left something behind specially for Anna. She found out that what the lady left her was an old box full of mysterious cards that told the future and something else that I won’t tell you... Eve was into that kind of stuff so they invite Syd over to to play with the cards. They decide Anna should go first since they were her cards. She chose the cards...and that’s when it all started. There was a boy at her school that was a bit nerdy the year before, but when they came back this year he changed. Anna started to like to him, but also every other girl in school did too. He ended up picking one of the Uber-cool’s in school, Alexa. But you have to read the book to know what happens next.

The Hollow
By, Jessica Verday
"They say she killed herself. Everyone was saying it."
Those are the first two sentences of The Hollow. It's a book about one girls struggle with her best-friends death. The two main characters are Abbey and Caspian. They meet at Abbey's best friend Kristen;s funeral. They meet again when Abbey goes to the bridge that Kristen dies at. They talk about the legend of Sleepy Hollow, they then meet there several more times. They plan to meet at the Public Library to find out more about Kristen's death and what she was doing the night of her death. Later on in the book when Abbey and her mother go to a repair shop that Caspian's dad works at she finds something big out about Caspian, her jolly old friend Nikolas and his wife. She then confronts them to find out the truth, which will change her life forever.
If you like fiction books then you'll love this. I compared it to the Twilight series because of the big secrets that there are.

The Battle of the Labyrinth
by: Rick Riordan

The Battle of the Labyrinth is the fourth of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books.
In this Percy, Grover, Annebeth, and Clarisse find an entrance into the Labyrinth, a massive expanse of caverns under the Earth. They are to find there way to the center so they can find the great inventor Daedalus so they can get the same tool a great greek hero used before Luke and his army. Luke is an evil half-blood and son of Hermes, God of roads, who is trying to resurrect an evil titan, a father or mother of the Greek Gods. If Luke gets to it first he may be able to get to the camp. You should read this book if you liked the other three books or Greek mythology.
